Fantastic 1-27 league win against Morley
Our Under 14 team travelled to Morley, Leeds for their Wakefield & District league fixture on Thursday 30th May. Due to school holidays, we only had a team of 8 players available to travel, which meant lots of pool time for everyone.
The game got off to a flying start with Bram scoring the first goal within the first 25 seconds of the starting whistle, and this was followed by goals from Indie, Thomas, Reka and Fynn along with a hat trick from Jasper. This meant the score was a fantastic 0-8 by the end of the first quarter.
The team continued to play from strength to strength in the second quarter, with four goals from Thomas, two from Indie and one each from Bram and Jasper; giving a half time score of 1-16.
The third quarter began with a goal from Thomas just 12 seconds after the starting whistle, and this was followed with goals from Reka, Jasper, Arwen and Fynn; giving the team a very well deserved 1-22 win by the end of this quarter.
As the fourth quarter began, the team’s fitness shone through and they continued to score, with a hat trick from Thomas along with goals from Indie and Fynn. Special recognition goes to Dylan – our goalkeeper – who despite playing the whole game, didn’t get the opportunity to save many goals due to the ball being in the opponents half of the pool for the majority of the game. Arwen and Bram both scored their first competitive league goals – well done! Final score was a 1-27 win.
